Very interesting article. I've been using Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile for a few months now and so far all has been good. I hope Webroot improves its results.

I was surprised Lookout got such great results. It was the security app recommended by my ISP as well.

Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like F-Secure and Kaspersky are at the top with Avast! a close second (less than optimal in only one category).

Yep. Kaspersky and F-Secure are the winners in the paid category and Avast in the Free category.

AVTest said that most free versions have the same detection rate as the paid versions (difference is in the additional features). Kaspersky Mobile security tested is the free version (Lite). I don't known if Fsecure has a free counterpart.

F-Secure has a free Anti-Theft app for Android, but no AV unfortunately.

 What a waste of battery.

All I need is Cerberus. If I lose my phone I can log in remotely and record audio, wipe the phone, backup contacts, take pictures, track via GPS, and even lock it with a pin number.

Cerberus is great and still don't feel the need for an Android AV app.

Same here, i do not feel the need for an Android AV.
It's because i don't do anything private or personal through my phone, just general chat and random web browsing every now and then :D
