What about this, is for a friend that need a new Notebook only for Internet and work with Word: i3 1115G4 -2 Core Ram 8 GB Hard disk 256 GB Monitor 15" 1920 x 1080 pixel Windows 10 I wonder: i3 will be enough ? And 256 GB in the hard disk wil be enough for the heavvy updates of 10 ?
Yes, both will be fine. That CPU is about 4 times faster than the i3 in the main computer I use, and it runs very well. My main SSD is only 120GB. A 256GB SSD be more than enough for their usage, unless they want to store a lot of data on it.
Why not spend a little bit of extra cash and go for the Intel Core i5 with a 512GB SSD. For me 256GB would be too small, especially since the OS uses a part of the diskspace.
In terms of performance, that i3 will be more than fast enough for their needs. Windows 10 does not use that much space. For me, 120GB is more than enough for my OS drive. I have a second SSD too, because I have a lot of downloads. But for running Windows 10, as long as you don't have many gigabytes of data, or are using lots of disk heavy software, 120GB is more than enough.
I agree 120 GB is plenty big enough. You could get away with much less (or more) as it depends on how much data you have in the OS partition. I have Win11 running quite well in a 11.5 GB partition. But the partition is full. Edit... my main computer has 31 GB of data in the Win10 OS partition. Personal data files are in a separate data partition. The data files could just as easily have been on an external drive so I could have coped with a 40 GB SSD.
My 256 GB SSD on Windows 10 is large enough to accommodate many years worth of audio and video files without any problems, though I store a few enormous files on external drives to keep the free space on the SSD around 50%.
