Jes I understand, but I have two computers that have to work together. To switch them over to Win 10 would be a huge undertaking. What is the benefit to justify the huge cost in time and effort. The setup is now working perfectly

I find these articles a bit sensationalistic. 0.29% increase means nothing. The headlines make it sound like people are dumping Windows 10 to roll back to Windows 7. Way too much effort for the average person. Probably just old devices that had not been powered on the previous month.

USA still the best. But barely.
[....Microsoft promises that the message will only appear a "handful of times" during 2019....]

Bookies set over under at 1,000 times during 2019.

Well, it will be in a year. I'm guessing it's just very warm bread at the moment.

to me it's toast, if a) can't run on the hardware, and b) some software is no longer available for it. As to security it is easy to lock it down and make it every bit as secure even without updates. Just takes a little bit of work

No they don't always need to be online, but I run Quickbooks, Outlook, and Microsoft Maps, and they all interact with each other. I also use Access heavily

If those 2 machines don't need online access, you could run them as they are into the foreseeable future. If the machines need occasional online access, you could maybe look into running emet on them
