I am looking for something (standalone bootable media ?) that can backup Linux, Windows 7 and Windows 10 with compression to an external USB 3 HDD readable in all of the above OS versions. Would have to be able to hold files over 4 GB ( Large medial files playable on all of the above ). The software I have tried for Linux does not do compression so a 1TB drive makes a 1TB file even though only 200 GB is actually used. Would like to do daily backups of documents and media files and monthly system images, alternating between 2 HDD less loss in case of hardware failure. Have any suggestions ? rrrh1
And Terabyte IFL is probably the only truly functional disk imager for Linux EXT4 systems. Acronis and most other imagers claims that they can image EXT4 but they cannot read the correct size of the occupied disk space in EXT4 disks.
Another vote for IFL. I've been using it happily since 2011 to backup Windows and Linux machines and it has never failed me. Great for booting on UEFI systems too.
Ditto. the bundle will give you a multiboot manager plus the partition manager (probably the best partition manager, especially for cross platform setups) Panagiotis
...and I believe I heard @Brian K mention that the license is good for up to 5-Systems (Brian... true for the BUNDLE?).
Thanks Infected. I hadn't seen that before. https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/purchase-bootit-collection.htm https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/purchase-image-for-dos-linux.htm
zapjb, It's now called BootIt Collection. This includes BIBM and BIU. Same price as the previous BIBM. https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/bootit-collection.htm
@Brian K Still confused your linked BootIt Collection is at $39.99 and as you say includes BIBM and BIU. This page https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/purchase-bootit-collection.htm Also called BootIt Collection & Special Bundle (Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite) for $49.99. Why doesn't it say SPECIFICALLY all the individual programs that are included? And I don't see anywhere else that Restore Suite is listed. This seems idiotic on TBU's part to be so unclear what is for purchase. @TBU just tell us what's included. Show a comparison page of programs & bundles. Like EaseUS does or used to do. Bet you've lost sales because of this & have customer complaints from consumers purchasing the wrong products or bundles.
zapjb, The Special Bundle includes everything they have. I have 2 Bundles. 10 home licenses. I agree it could be worded more clearly.
Idk know if my reading comprehension improved or I never saw this page before. And are these lifetime licenses that include new versions?
zapjb, I'm just looking at my TeraByte update site for ver 3.29. I only need 2 downloads... TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite V3.29 (All In One. Includes Image for Windows V3.x) BootIt Collection (BIU V1.08, BIBM V1.56) That is "everything" they have. BIBM includes IFD. BIU includes IFU. Both include TBOSDT Pro. TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite includes IFW, IFL, IFD, IFU and TBOSDT Pro. Edit... Licenses. The licenses are lifetime for Ver3. We are up to 3.29 so probably 70 updates to go at around 6 to 10 per year. That's years away before Ver4 is released. If and when Ver4 is released, Ver3 owners will get a 50% discount.
I was going to link to the EaseUs comparison chart to show easy it is to delineate between every EaseUS product. But in the years I've not visited the comparison chart is gone. These companies got to be losing monies by people just being too darned confused on what they need & which products offer what in what combination.
They are perpetual licenses (lifetime for the major version e.g 1.x, 2.x, 3.x of the products). But Terrabyte unlimited does not milk their customers every year for usuless upgrades like other companiies. IFW/IFL/IFD v1 was updated from 2002 to 2007 v2 was updated from 2007 to 2016 v3 is being updated from 2016 to .... BootItBM is being update from 2011 to .... (and if you needed the upgrade to Bootit Collection they released it in 2018 to ....) And when you upgrade they give you a 50% discount. Panagiotis
