I have Server 2008 from MSDN, but I don't know if NOD 2.70.39 is compatible with this version. Is the newer 3.x supported?

v3.0 will be better for Windows Server 2008 , at least it should be so because of the fact v3 is newer and designed for the newer OSes (v2 developement was stopped long before Windows 2008 appeared)

2.7 is fine with Server 2008....I run 2008 from my MSDN on my laptop. Runs like a champ. It was compatible with Vista...and 2008 is just...Vista Server. 2.7 is nice 'n light...combined with the lightness of Server 2008 (versus the pigginess of Vista)..makes for one heck of a snappy laptop!

    Hello,

It should work fine, however, the software may be more difficult to manage if you install the operating system in a "Windows Server 2008 Core" role.

That sounds great. Let me give Server 2008 a try. Users sweared it runs signficantly faster than Vista even though they are essentially the *same* thing.

It is for me. I was amazed at how quickly Server 2008 installed..and I was a first desktop login. It runs significantly faster than Vista did on the same laptop..a Thinkpad T41. (pentium M, 7,200rpm drive, 1.5 gigs of RAM...yeah I know....quite underpowered for Vista..but it's just a clunker laptop I often take with me onsite).

I was dual booting Vista with various *nix flavors...PCLinuxOS, Ubuntu..and didn't have the patience for Vista..so was usually booting into *nix. Now I'm using S2K8 more often.
