I am using the following protection right now

    Firewall: Comodo Firewall Pro v3
    Anti-Malware: A-Squared Anti-Malware (FULL Version), RegDefend
    Anti-Virus: ESET Nod32 Anti-Virus v3.0.667.0

Is that good enough?? I am trying to make it so My Computer won't slow down but keep me protected...

I also have SUPERAntiSpyware (Full Version), MalwareBytes` 1.6 (FULL Version)...I can also make those run in the backround as well, but I use them for Scanning..

    I also use the following...Ad-Aware 2007 Free and Spybot S & D.

So am I safe or not...I have read on other forums people run like 10 programs for protection like Online Armor and ALL Ghost Security Suite, and Loon N Destroy and a lot of other weird sounding protection..

Any recommendations to keep me secure, but not make my computer slow down as well as not using programs that are not just setup and leave alone.

Please help me...I want to make my computer as secure as possible...I use Utor so I have 1 Open Port...

Sorry if this is the wrong section to post.

IMHO you are quite safe like you are now. As you already have SuperAntispyware and MalwareBytes, you could ditch AdAware and Spybot.

Now you could always consider adding a Sandbox like Sandboxie or DefenseWall.

Maybe get a program to make an image and you'll be fine.

    Hi, sandman423

I assume you use CPF with Defense+.
If so, I wonder why you seem to be so afraid of ad/spyware.
How big is the chance, that spyware can be installed without any warning from D+?

So NOD and Comodo for realtime protection may be enough.
I agree with Antarctica, you can add a sandboxing tool like Sandboxie, GesWall or DefenseWall for browsing.
Mainly to prevent every unwanted stuff from running.

If you keep one spyware scanner, then most likely the scans will be without noticeable results.

And of course use imaging software like ShadowProtect or TrueImage.

'10 programs for protection' o_O bare nonsense

    Cheers

You're in pretty good shape. Assuming you have the A2 AntiMalware running in the background I would not enable the real-time protection on your other AS programs - just use them for "on demand" scans. I would keep SpyBot S&D mainly for the immunize function, but it's good for on demand scanning too (make sure you have the latest version 1.6). I also recommend SpywareBlaster (free) which also immunizes against bad sites, cookies, and active-X controls.

Add Geswall Pro to your list for secure browsing.

Quote Bellgamin for the hw firewall and Killtek and Carver for a sandboxing or a virtualisation browsering software.

    Who cares
Remove Ad-Aware and Spybot, get something like Sandboxie or GesWall, and if you often try new software get a good behaviour blocker like Threatfire, or if you want to pay Mamutu.
