I am currently running the latest stable version of Mailwasher (1.33). It works fine, but I am interested in downloading the latest beta. Would I have to uninstall v. 1.33 before installing it, or could I install it on top of the current version? Thanks in advance.

    Hello Octogen

May I suggest to uninstall whatever software first IF possible. Make sure there is no old registry path left, I use free Jv16 powertool.....reboot and install new fresh version. It makes sure nothing gets corrupted. That is my own experience of upgrading.

Krusty's advice is a sound one.
I've always installed each new version of mailwasher on top of previous one to retain account setups. However, make sure the program is closed before doing the upgrade, not to interfere with any running part of the program.

Thanks Krusty and MickeytheMan for the quick responses. I agree with you MTM that Krusty's advice is sound. Redoing account setups shouldn't be too much of a hassle since I only have one account. ;) I believe I can retain the old filter ruleset, since it is stored in a plain text file (please correct me if I am wrong about that). Thanks again, gentlemen.
