Can True image see over a wireless network to backup so that I can backup a laptop to say a drive on a desktop?

Since it would have to see the card via boot ,, is this possible or a un worthy task?

  2. very unlikely - there are scant few wifi cards supported by default under linux.

more importantly, backing up more than a few hundred megs over wireless would be nauseatingly slow even for the so-called "108Mbps" cards.

    Hello john510,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

I'm afraid that the current version of Acronis True Image 9.0 does not support WiFi network connection when booted from Bootable Rescue CD. The support for this type of network connection will most likely be implemented in the future versions\builds of a particular product, but exact time frame for this is not decided yet.

However, it might work when the program is running from under Windows, since Acronis True Image 9.0 utilizes standard Windows drivers and usually able to "see" everything that Windows can "see". I recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 to see how the software works on your computer.

    Thank you.

That would allow creating the image under XP & WiFi, but what for if the distant image-holding drive is not acessible by WiFi when booted from CD

Try with an USB-USB cable ?
