    Convinced? Who did they convince?
How about the 12 VB100 fails? Does that convince you?

Thank you for the generosity Ziggy and Ikarus. :thumb:

I wouldn't put too much faith in tests from an organization that uses only wildlist detection to rate products. Though its very plain with no "bells and whistles," I was impressed by Ikarus and its detection. That's enough for me.

Putting faith in one 50 sample test of MRG over a series of 14 tests taken over a five year period doesn't make much sense to me. To each their own.

    Discount Order

    Hi folks ;-)

please be sure that you fill in "wilderssecurity.com" in the array because you wan´t get a discount if not.
for those who are overextended with the array (our shop is only in German, sorry about that) email me that you ordered and forgot the wilders-discount in the array.

12 VB100 tests... Let me see that dates back to 2001, right and we're in year 2012. Now make a more sensible thing and go over last 5 tests:

    2010 december - pass
    april 2011 - 1 miss 3 fp
    june 2011 - 1 fp
    august 2011 - 2 fp
december 2011- wildlist misses (don't have subscription so don't know how many)

These look pretty solid to me. You have to keep in mind 1 fp or 1 miss means a fail in VB100. Also how I look at VB100 tests is completely another story for another topic.

The worst results came from April 2010 and October 2009. You're telling us to judge an AV from a test 2-3 years ago? Nice :). The other fails are not really a failure. A fail for 1-3 false positive and 1 - 2 wildlist miss? Any other AV software will have a miss in their signature. These Virus Bulletin tests means nothing and so are other testing organizations.

I totally agree. To compare something today like against 2009, is nothing more then a troll post. Ikarus is as solid as the main vendors today.

Now if FPs are a issue for you and you do give credit to VB100 and its tests, well then, just look down at the bottom of the test page here and the number of FPs.:argh: :argh:

Because, as has been stated many times in these forums, the idea is to have an AV with a HISTORY of excellent results, not a single result of a test with 50 samples. Whether or not you like VB100 testing, there is still a history that can be used, although not very good. As far as trolling goes, I guess if you don't like someone's comments, you call them a troll.

    nice ;-)
    please look forward!

This is just a test, each scanner listed and awarded with VB100 has misses in real life (no one finds 100% of malware itw)
I remember a time (not long ago) one of the so called VB100 scanners defines explorer.exe as a virus :D i know, a fp but most customers deleted the virus and the system was not running anymore.

I peronally (not talking for IKARUS) don´t give a .... about testing results - more interresting (for customers), how to handle the software and if confusing or not.

    Br,
    ziggy

I agree with your point on MRG tests. 50 samples mean nothing statistically. However 12 VB100 tests date back to 2001. Two years of consistent performance should be more than enough. Take Norton for example they had a painfully slow suite for a long while, however in last two years or so new versions are quite light. Should we consider Norton still resource heavy?

Btw Norton is just used as an example here, you may /may not agree with my view on its resource usage.

The Resource Usage of the newer norton products are not that bad as 2003 or 2006

Ziggy, I just want to thank you for all members here for the discount. I dont know how many may take advantage of it, some do take advantage of offers like this, and still never use the product.

But Ikarus is, a very good product and all at Ikarus should be proud where all of you have gotten it. The sky is the limit.

And, we all hope you continue to post here as a member and vendor on behalf of Ikarus with any and all changes for the future.

You are family now, so welcome my friend.:thumb:

Good Evening ! Currently using Ikarus very impressed runs nimble in general surfing no lagging on any of my current browsers Opera and Chrome. Have adjusted for Scheduled Scans very intuitive and uncluttered Gui. I enjoy it's simplicity...although I'm sure as time progresses more will be discovered. Hats off to Trjam and Ziggy . I was very disappointed with another well known security vendor that weren't willing to keep an existing customer...so I'm impressed with Ziggy's communications, he actually answers your queries within twenty fours hours, very refreshing. Sincerely...Securon

we treat each customer as customer and not as a number in a database.
the support and communication is one of the most important things for a manufacturer to become feedback from honest people about the product (good or bad ones) - we all know how it works when you need a support (you have to wait days for a simple email and there is mostly no number to dial to get a direct technical help)

we don´t want that our customers have to talk to a bad skilled callcenteragent.

BTW.: Thank you for the kind admittance in the comunity here @ wilders!
