Does Paragon have a product to assist in my transfer of data from IDE drive computer to SATA drive computer. I (think) the only problem is the drive drivers, otherwise I could just do a clone and copy.

    Any help?

I'm not sure of exactly what you are trying to do but when SATA drives first came out I mounted one in the IDE-only computer and then loaded the SATA driver so the SATA drive could be used. I then made an image which now had the SATA driver included.

The above isn't likely necessary if you are running Vista or Win7 since they have SATA support included.

Both systems are XP Pro. Do not understand the "I mounted one in the IDE-only computer and then loaded the SATA driver...." How did you mount the SATA drive on a IDE box? How did you load the SATA driver?

    Thank you.

Sorry, forgot the explanation. Company has very old system XP Pro (10+years) with apps etc and vendor is no longer avail. Would like to move to newer hardware. So looking into moving from IDE to SATA. Have been using cloning software but have never needed to deal with differences like IDE vs SATA and those problems.

As variant, you can virtualize the old system and run it on the new hardware from a virtual machine. But of course, can be completely migrate P2P from any hardware on any.

Oops, I see the problem. The IDE only box did have some SATA ports so it was just a matter of installing the drive, plugging it in and letting XP discover new hardware and then loading the driver.

Unfortunately, if you don't have SATA ports this doesn't work.

Read up on Paragon's P2p, I've never used it but it looks like a good tool for changing over to different hardware.
