    BILL HICKS, Revelations Tour, 1993

    The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride..."
    And we... kill those people.
    Ha ha
    "Shut him up."
    "We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real."
    Just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because: It's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defences each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

    Snowbound and Rothko, those are GREAT!!:)

    Ronjor, yeah, know what he means......LOL!:p

    Along the same lines.....

    Today we added....
    265,000 babies, lost 7,500 acres of rain forest,
    added 46,000 acres of desert, lost 71 million tons
    of topsoil, added 15 million tons of carbon dioxide
    to the air, lost about 70 species--and we get to do
    it again tomorrow.
    --R.T. Gabbert, Skokie, Illinois

    A couple more on Life and Living it.....

    ..We do have more choice of experience from which to learn and possibly change ourselves to an extent, we have now leaned too far in the opposite direction, or so it seems to me.

    We have lost respect for fate and for the natural limitations of being human,
    and the humility that goes with it.

    Unless we regain it, we will face fateful consequences.

    ~~~~~~~~
    "On conversations about how spiritually evolved you may feel you are over anyone else ...."
    "....EARTH IS A SOUL REFINERY. And not a single one of us would be here if we didn't have lots and lots of icky stuff to work on within ourselves.
    So there's no point trying to win the prize for evolution. If we manage to turn
    1% of our greed, or selfishness, or envy, or hatreds into compassion, we've done all right by the time we're through here.
    Then, who knows. Your guess is as good as mine.
    Stay real."
    During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball. ~ Mickey Mantle, 1970
    On being Perfect..or Happy.
    When you are fighting indecision in your Life, you may lose sight of the clear choices in front of you.
    Your biggest choice is to be Happy!
    Reject self or peer imposed standards that cause you to struggle to be happy-they are most likely too unrealistic.
    Choose, instead to accept yourself.
    There IS no perfection possible here,
    aiming for it is an insult to what you are right now.
    Cherishs your faults--don't change the things you love about life.
    These are some misquoted quotes from different forums....
    see if you can figure out what they are trying to say! :D
    "This must be those new digital ink shirts that connect back to the master server and update frequently.":blink:
    "I don't understand websites - I just write words."
    "I dunno... first of all, hippos kill more humans in Africa every year than any other animal, and Windows may be transparent, but they're after all made of vampires." o_O
    "And the fezzes aren't working. I asked some shriner chap if I could have a moon, and he poured his gin and tonic all over me.":blink:
    LOL! Don't ask me, I dunno either?!?!:rolleyes:o_O
    (We sound positively scholarly at Wilders' after reading all that, don't ya think? :D)
