I'm having a problem removing spyware from my laptop. I downloaded Dr. WEb cure it and Kaspersky AVP Tool and ran both of those, in total it found about 7 or 8 viruses but I still have some issues left.

    1. Task Manager is disabled.
    2. A big red screensaver with the words " YOUR PRIVACY IS IN DANGER" Download privacy protection now!! with a sort of big red symbol.
    3. At the lower right, I have a "VIRUS ALERT" where the clock is usually.
    4. I cannot access any programs, no hard drives or anything.
    5. C: drive is there and I can access network neighborhood and a couple other programs.

I'm running Zonealarm pro to scan for spyware.

    Any other advice.

SAS will remove it, it has done so with a friend of mine so I guess it will work for you too!

Download last version of SAS on your other computer.
In the infected computer, disable system restore.
    Install and run SAS.
    Reboot
Run an extra scanner to be sure.
    Reboot
    Enable system restore.

If scanner hangs or crashes computer, reboot to safe mode and try again.

If you have any probelm, just ask:D

    BTW.
Once SAS takes the first strike against the malware, you should try to connect to the internet, update SAS definitions and then scan again...

Maybe not needed anymore, but if task manager is still disabled after the cleaning, you could:
    a) download SAS pro version trial and use the repair functions.
    or
    b) download "xpsecconsole" and fix task manager.
