    Hi,

Recently i've installed ESET on a server. The server had MySQL server installed on it and all the other PCs access that through client programmes. When i installed the Smart Security, it blocked all my connections coming from the other PCs. So i started looking at it and found that firewall is running on automatic filtering mode. I changed it to Interactive filtering and Created a rule to allow all incoming connections to port 3306 (port that mysql uses). So it worked. Now the problem is i can't access MySQL from the servers itself.I get the following error,

MySQL Error No. 2003. Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061).

So when I switched the mode to automatic , problem is solved other PCs are blocked. I turn the firewall off both problems are solved. I tried to create different rules but unsuccessful till now.

    Regards,
    Daniyal

Rules that you make in Interactive mode SHOULD follow over to Automatic mode.

As for the problem with Localhost you may have to go into the firewall settings and allow that program Trusted Access to the Local Network.

Try enabling logging blocked connection attempts, replicate the problem and then check the firewall log for details about the rule that blocked the connection.
