EE to reintroduce Europe roaming charges in January

Mobile operator EE will charge new UK customers extra to use their mobile phones in Europe from January.
Those joining or upgrading from 7 July 2021 will be charged £2 a day to use their allowances in 47 European destinations from January 2022.
EE, which is part of BT Group, previously said it had no plans to reintroduce roaming charges in Europe.

Vodafone has become the second UK mobile company to reintroduce roaming charges for users travelling in Europe.
From January, new and upgrading customers will be charged at least £1 a day to use their mobile phone in EU destinations, on several tariffs.
It follows similar plans from rival EE, announced in June.

Vodafone and EE delay EU roaming charges return

EE has also delayed resuming its roaming charges, which were planned for January, until March.
The Three network has also said it will bring in roaming charges between the UK and Europe, though their change is planned for May 2022.

Explaining the reason for delaying its planned changes, Vodafone said it was not ready to bring in the new system.
