Google Chrome 17 Beta Predicts Which Pages to Load, Scans Downloads for Threats

 

Nice feature about the analyzing of .exe and .msi files. I'm curious about how they'll actually analyze those files.
The speedy page pre-rendering is nice also, then again, I've got my list of bookmarks so I don't often type an address of sites I've visited often, even if only for a limited period. When browsing, I prefer keyboard and mouse.

 

I believe Chrome has heuristics for phishing pages, the safebrowsing API blacklist, a file reputation system, and now a site reputation system. It's not very clear.

The prerendering has been very accurate for me and it's one of those noticeable jumps in speed.

 

For them to have come up with this feature implies that quite a few people actually type in urls rather than click on links!

 

I type in the url bar for wilders and every other site. And then when I navigate through the site I click links.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Issues or not I'm moving over to Chrome 17 and taking advantage of Adblock being able to finally work. AdBlockPlus is officially busted on FF. Pages that were ad-free just weeks ago are now littered with them, manually blocked ads and elements keep coming back and so are previously blocked Flash-based content. P.s, I know I'll be asked, so yes, acceptable ads is turned off.

Why don't you use bookmarks to open sites, HM... at least the frequently revisited ones like Wilders?

Seriously: As mentioned in another thread I can't reproduce your problems, and searching through the ABP forum confirms that (with the exception of one or two complaints from people using old FF versions that are no longer supported). I repeat my suggestion to create a new profile and test that with only ABP installed and newly subscribed filter lists.

 

Lol, yes yes, I know..official by me As I stated in the other thread though, I did what you suggested and had no change. I'm on FF 9, so old version issues don't apply.

 

Improved performance YES, delayedlowertoken WORSE

ProcessExplorer againg showing often Medium Mantory level child processes in stead of Low Interigity Rights Level.

They need to reduce the delayedlowertoken value (PS it is not a bug in Chrome, it is a bug in ProcessExplorer according to Chrome Dev's )

So improved performance yes, improved security questionairy, advice better stick to the last stable IMO

That is the official explanation of Chrome I have got in the past. But when there is a dll called delaylowertoken I think it smells (I also tried other monitors which apprently had a simular bug).
