    Hello,
    I am wondering why it always has to be so difficult to get this program to work properly?:rolleyes: I keep coming back though.Anyway I am using a computer(desktop) equipted with Vista Home Premium,SP 1,fully patched,running KIS 2009.

    I upgraded to 2009 from version 11 and both are paid and registered and do show up in my account with both S/N's intact.First problem- I go through the activation proceedure and after reboot it wants me to reactivate every time.I made sure I am using the latest version of 2009,which I am.I don't dare try and go back to V11 again...because I attempted to use the Accronis cleanup tool and it cleaned up a little more than V11.....if you know what I mean!LOL!
    So after reinstalling Windows I have only tried using the latest version(2009).So far so good-the program runs and allows me to scroll throgh the whole thing etc.

    So beside not being able to get the registration to hold(I downloaded the updated version directly from my account on the Accronis website),the program or my computer will not permitt me to create the rescue disk.As the little timer -clock is running,the wizard or the machine throughs up an error that states"E00040010 Device is busy Tag=Ox8B7F8138EBD33EBC".The little clock then proceeds to run forever and the error screen is behind it and it does not go away.Does anyone have any ideas about these things?I have succeeded in making a one click backup, I don't have a rescue disk,but I suppose I'll have to redo everything anyway once it stays registered-I got the same routine going from trial to paid.

    That is my tale of woe:blink: ,if anyone has any insight I would appreciate it-I really like this program when it is working properly it has been flawless.Thanks.

    Go to your account on the Acronis site. You should see a place to enter your serial number to verify it is a permanent one. If not, they will issue you another.

    A followup-the key exchange seemed to have solved the registration problem,as long as it doesn't return in 15 days.

    I am still trying to create a rescue disk though...with the same problems as the first post of this thread.

    If you're trying to create a bootable CD directly with Media Builder, put the CD in the tray and leave the tray open. Media Builder should pull it in when it's ready to burn it.

    Another option is to create an ISO file and then use Nero or another ISO capable program to burn the ISO image to a CD.

    Hello All ,

    Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

    Create Acronis bootable disc with third-party burning software using ISO image is the easiest way. Here are some more workarounds/suggestions you can use in case you can’t create Acronis bootable CD/DVD disc within the program:

    1. Please make sure that you are using a blank unformatted CD/DVD-R or CD/DVD-RW disc, as other types of media cannot be used to create a bootable rescue CD/DVD.

    2. Boot into Safe mode (press F8 when Windows starts up and choose Safe mode to boot into) and then create Acronis True Image Bootable CD/DVD.

    3. Update any third-party CD/DVD-writing software installed on the computer to the latest version available for free on its respective web-site.

    4. Uninstall any CD/DVD burning software temporarily and then create Acronis True Image Bootable CD/DVD.

    5. If you use Windows XP please uncheck the "Enable CD/DVD recording on this drive" box in the "Recording" tab (to get to this tab please right click on the CD/DVD-drive in "My computer" and choose "Properties").

    6. One more workaround:

    - Eject any disc from the burner prior to starting the program;
    - Proceed until the program asks for a disc;
    - Insert a disc and then click the OK button to close the tray automatically.

    Best regards,
