Hi everyone! I'm new to this program and was wondering: There are some backup programs without naming which, that require you to make a new "rescue boot disk" each time you create a new backup. Does True Image require this also or will the same rescue disk work for all backups? If someone can answer this, I'll surely appreciate it! :) Thanks! ChattyCathy

The backup disk, or rescue disk, you make will *fit* the version of True Image you presently have, such as v.9.00.2302. Each version that is issued of the same series, in this case version 9, could have slight changes in the recovery disk one burns, or floppies one makes, after the install of the program. The recovery disk enables a boot from the CD if an operating system or hard disk is disabled and allows a restoring of an image, previously made, back to the present hard drive, or to a new drive.

With TI there is no need to make a new rescue CD after doing a backup.

Of course when you install a new version/build of TI you would need to create a new bootable rescue CD if, and only if, you want to have whatever bug fixes, new features, etc have been released for that version/build. The only reason you would be forced to create a new bootable CD would be if TI changed the internal format of the image file so that the old version bootable CD would be incompatible with image files from the new version of TI. This has not happened with TI9, it's image files are compatible with TI8.
