yeah, I've been able to clear the update issue by running an updating using the tray icon (I only notice it if I open the console, so it doesn't really bother me) the closed umbrella, however, is a longstanding bug that has annoyed me for a long time; that one seems to also be cosmetic in nature because the product still functions normally despite the signaling by the tray application. that being said, i'd love for it to be fixed as well. you can "fix" it by toggling realtime protection off/on, but it would be nice to not to have to do that, ofc.
With Windows 10 version 1809, the umbrella initializes for a long time (4 minutes rather than 1 minute) and then disappears... It is even worse than I thought: I can't access the GUI and check logs in any way. Uninstalled for the time being until it is fixed...
Was always like that , regardless of the version of Windows (I am on Win7) They said is "normal" to initialize for minutes... Removed and installed something else.
I don't understand why you keep trolling about Avira. You arbitrarily edited my post to serve your narrative... This is not about 'initializing', it is about Windows 10 VERSION 1809, whereby I can't access the GUI and see if the program works properly... You are a troll and stay with your 'something else' program...
Hello Osaban, So what happened with your advice : "Look man, if you criticize the time of initializing, it is fine with me, complain to Avira support and that's that." https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-212#post-2779180 Or this doesn't apply to you, only to commoners ?
something just wrong about the installation and function of Avira over the last 2 weeks....Not working correctly..
My Avira also went from max 10 seconds initializing to almost 2 minutes now all of a sudden. I never had this before. Are the devs aware of this problem? Thanks.

Long present bug "updating" in GUI when already updated seems to be fixed. If user navigates to folder with many .exe file inside, Avira AV scans folder which results in 100 percent hard drive usage for gew seconds or longer, depens how much and how big files are inside.. ... Such behaviour is not usual among AV programs and certainly not among top user wishes. Update time and CPU usage during update is hugely better now, boot time is somewhat long but OK...
Is anyone using Windows 10 version 1809 with the latest Avira experiencing any problems? I have uninstalled Avira Pro since October 4th as I had problems, the taskbar icon disappearing and couldn't access the GUI...
