I have simply disabled my present AV and I see this message on setup.

Do we need to completely uninstall our primary AV?

I did try out the previous German beta but this was completely uninstalled.

If you have AntiVir 6 installed before, you need to uninstall it. You might want to save ANTIVIR0.VDF - ANTIVIR3.VDF and restore them later when you switch back to AV6.

Will there be AntiVir 7 Classic (free) launched at same time as Premium one or there won't be any AntiVir 7 free edition?

Very modern GUI and update speed was very impressive this time compared to the Classic version. But this was on a fast cable connection here at work.

Servers responded immediately. Stefan are these servers different to the "Classic" servers?

Guard has a relatively large footprint of over 30MB VM. But I have 2GB RAM on this machine so RTM seems very light.

Extended threat categories. Also has a very extensive Help-File.

All in all a very impressive package on the surface, particularly with incremental updating and the seemingly better Server response.

I will have to ask some guys in the Windows team which update servers this version is using - but as it is the Premium beta I would guess it's the Premium servers. Which means of course they are faster than the AV Classic servers.

:) O.k., I may just do this, and I sure hope you are correct about the server(s), because I do not want to have to start blasting away again.

    Thanks

I see this checkbox "scans memory". Does AntiVir use a file scanner for memory scanning?

How long before the beta expires, and will there be a free version, or just this soon to be pay premium version?

Maybe you should be a tester. Who knows you might get a free licence at the end. ;)

A temporary license file can be downloaded that is valid until Dec. 6th.
The Classic free version will still be available.

    Differences include;

" In comparison with the AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic (freeware), the Premium-version provides more comfort amongst others: * Pop3 scanner (mail Guard) * Modern graphic surface * Fully automated update function * Exclusive download server * Scan function for lists and folders * Telephone support ( with costs) * License manager"
Depending on the program, Beta testers can be rewarded with free licenses.

It could be worth a lot to Antivir to advertise "Tested by Wildman." ;) :D
