Doesn't seen to get in my way. Have a friend that is currently using the trial and says he had to disable AMON.

    Hi mingus

Yes, Amon is supposed to be always on. It's the on-access scanner of NOD32, and checks (nearly) every file that's executed or accessed while your PC and other programs are doing their thing. IMO, It's pretty much the primary line of defense.

There is a simple way to temporarily disable Amon if the need arises. For instance, some software installs caution that installation will go smoother if AV's are disabled. OTOH, many users like you don't run across the need to disable it.

What was Amon preventing your friend from doing? If it's conflicting with another program, he should really try to get it resolved; keeping it disabled would mostly defeat the purpose of having an AV program.

    Regards
