I have many remote business 4.2.x workstations that are NOT on my LAN and my email smtp servers only allow authenticated smtp traffic over either STARTTLS on port 25 or TLS/SSL on custom ports such as 587 (same port gmail also uses for secure authenticated email submission)

I have tried ticking box saying that smtp server needs authentication, and filling in email username and password. emails do not come through, I also tried appending a trailing ":587" after the smtp server name, but that did not help either.

How do I get the client to send me alerts and notifications by secure authenticated email?

and where do I make a feature request to have a "test" button on the email and notification alert, and see what the configured server replied to the nod32 clinet in case of an error condition?

If this is a support person from Eset answering, what are the login protocols that the client currently uses when one fills in the smtpo authentication info?

    Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately TLS/SSL is not supported for sending Alerts and notifications from the ESET antivirus client.

The only authentication supported is username/password.

Perhaps you can configure some type of SMTP relay.
