:( Ad-aware suddenly decided it was not going to give me any updates ... keep getting message that "No new components available". My last one was OR15005.07.2003 and I know there are new updates. Yes, I checked ZAP and Ad-Aware is allowed to access the internet ...... sooooooooooo_Oo_O o_O

    Hi Peaches4U,

When you start AdAware, what's the build number in the bottom right hand corner. Should be 6.181
The older builds are unable to use the new updates.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Ooops, mine is 6.0, Build 162 .... how did I miss the updated version? Sheesh!! When I was installing Ad-ware for a friend I wondered why it was different from mine .. o_O - I should have twigged but it was 2:00 a.m. and I had been working on their computer since 3 o'clock that afternoon, housecleaning. Can I instal the updated one over the older version or is it best I uninstal 6.0 and do a clean instal of the newer one? Thanks Pieter. :)

    Hi Peaches4U,

Both ways should give you no problems. The advantage of installing over the old version is that your old backups can still be restored.

    Regards,

    Pieter
