    Hello,
I posted a thread about how bad the Acronis support is. I then scanned the forum and realized that many people who have problems are never answered. If you have an Acronis user that has had a successful restore we would like to hear from you. Backups are something that should be done right and from the posts in this forum it appears that Acronis workstation software may not work at all. Please respond to this thread if you have used Caronis to backup and successfully restored a drive to recover from a disaster.

I have restored successfuly twice. Once with Version 8 and again with
version 9. Someone up there is possibly looking after me.

I don't really know what you are trying to prove since I can go onto the Symantec Ghost forum, the Corel Forum, the Microsoft forum, the Nero forum and find all sorts of problems listed for their products. The people who don't have problems don't tend to go onto the forum to say "It's working!".

I can't comment on your problems getting support but from what I've seen Acronis is as good as anybody and the posts in this forum are not official "trouble tickets" AFAIK.

I used V9 bld2302 (the previous one) to restore my C: drive from DVDs using the bootable CD version - as if I had experienced a complete meltdown. Worked just fine.

I've had excellent results with TI8 Build 937. I've had three occasions where I needed TI, and it worked like a charm every time.

I never upgraded to TI9 because it came out a little more than 30 days after I bought TI8, and I thus wasn't eligible for a free upgrade. The short list of worthwhile changes and the initial overwhelmingly negative reports about TI9 convinced me to stick with what works, at least for now.

I've done a successful backup/restore cycle of a full disk image with TI9/2323. Yesterday, if fact, after I formatted a system drive on the wrong machine through inattention.

Boot sector, partition table, FATs, three data partitions all restored without apparent problem.

I have not tried a file/folder restore however, and these seem to be the cause of some difficulity.

As hinted to by an earlier poster, this is the Acronis support forum where support issues are addressed. There is no need for editorialization or poll-type threads such as this. Thus, this thread is closed. Support issues can be addressed in their own individual threads so as to minimize confusion and clutter in this very busy forum section.
