I admit I don't know exactly what I'm doing here but hopefully you can help. I purchased above version on a disk at Best Buy and installed it about 2 mo. ago on my laptop (xp sp2 120 gb hd and 2 gb ram) and promptly did a complete backup to a dvd-r, took 2 discs. 2 weeks later I did another backup and did the validation. Both showed corrupted! I completely uninstalled the version I had and downloaded the latest build 8053. Did another full backup and validated and also corrupted. I have Zone Alarm Security Suite. Am I supposed to deactivate my antivirus and firewall when I do backup or can anybody out there shed some light on what I may be doing wrong? Help!

    Hi Dave,
It is possible other software may cause such problems but they can be difficult to diagnose at times. I suggest you boot from the Recovery CD and make your back ups from there. If you are not sure, go to the Tools menu and select Create Bootable Rescue Media. I hope this helps.

I don't think you need to deactivate the ZA but it would be a good idea to go in and allow all the ATI exe and dll files. Air, that's not to hard to do in ZA.

However, I would definetely diasble ZA while installing any software. Not always a necessity but when it is, oh the pain it can cause.

    Hello dave dreiling,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please notice that it is possible that the archive is being declared corrupt because of faulty data transfers. We recommend you to run a memory diagnostics such a Memtest86+ available free from www.memtest.org for a several hours. There should be no errors reported.
Please try copying/moving the archive to another location, and validating it again. Please also try using Acronis Bootable Rescue Media to validate the archive.

    Thank you.
