I am attempting to use Acronis True Image workstation 9.1 to create an image but cannot see any internal drives on my newer Dell machines but can see the USB drives if they are attached. Has anyone else had this issue and what has been the solution? This issue has only happened on my newer Dell machines (purchased in the last 6 months) two Dell Inspirons and 2 Vostro 200s. No problems on my older Dells. Please help!

Try the acpi=off noapic workaround that is in one of the stickies.

Also, check if you have the latest build of TIW 9.1.

Are you trying to create the image from within Windows or are you using the recovery disk?

If it is from within Windows, you might have to update the SnapAPI driver (this is build 337. I think this is the latest publically released version, without talking to support).

If you are imaging from the recovery disk, try DwnNdrty's suggestion. If it doesn't work the Linux drivers are a bad match for your hardware. To resolve this you can either follow the directions in this post or build a BartPE / VistaPE based disk which uses Windows drivers for better compatibility.

Thanks for the info guys. But it didn't work, it must be a driver issue :(. I guess I will have to do a PE version.

    Hello TomBun,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please make sure you use the latest build (3887) of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and update all installed components, as they need to be the same build in order to interact properly.

If the latest build doesn't solve the problem, please submit a request for technical support. Attach all information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
