I would think that it was a well thought out plan and maybe
    BitDefender has been bought out??

No, because they most likely legally licensed a contract with BitDefender. Auslogics is good example.

Not if they made a licensing agreement with BitDefender company (Softwin)...

Though i don't get it wats the point of rebranding if you don't offer something different. F-Secure is a good example of that. It's using BitDefender engine but interface and additional protection layers are way different than what BitDefender is offering. But just smacking your name on stock edition of AV, what's the point?

Even not free would be good if it's cheaper than stock BD.

    And where would that be?

Someone was saying ACDsee is stealing from BitDefender because they use the same interface. If the made a licensing agreement (which i'm sure they did), then it's not stealing.

As for the second part, i'm just questioning the point of going this path if you don't offer anything new at all and expect it to sell for even higher price than the original product...

I don't see any contradiction in that.

in my experience, any product that try to copycat another that much is never good enough to even test drive it. i mean just look at that interface ... shame on acdsee.

Second sentence is related to F-SECURE not ACDSee. He is making a comparison between the two :)

Probably you have been confused by the "." after "that".

The above last quoted sentence made me think the above first quoted sentence was about F-Secure.

I don't get it what's not understandable here? Why do ppl always have problems reading within context on nearly all forums? I'm surer my english is not perfect but i'm sure anyone can understand me just fine.

Sorry for the offtopic... your sentence could be misinterpreted due to the "." It would have created less problems if it was like this:

Probably ALiasEX have not tried F-Secure and does not know that it is not a clone of bitdefender but only using their engine. So, for someone having no knowledge on F-SECURE the sentence could be misinterpreted. :D

    Offtopic closed

what really amazes me is that they are a multimedia product & couldn't even managed to make their own Interface??
    Just changing the Header:blink:
I guess creating the Interface would have been taken just some days for an Expert!!:doubt:
