    Hello there.

Does anyone know if it is possible to force write access to unencrypted files/volumes from within a hidden operating system created by Truecrypt ? I know it's not good practice, I have read and re-read all Truecrypt documentation, but I still need this very bad.

P.S. I cannot create another hidden volume for my data because I need support for >4Gb files but I cannot afford to use just half of a drive for that with NTFS.

    No, its not.

Prior to the forum going down, this was a hotly requested item. I doubt it will ever be implemented.

The thing to do would be to just write them to a hidden container, then copy them out from the decoy side, since a hidden container can be accessed from any TrueCrypt install.

Also, beware using hidden containers that are excessive in size in comparison to the outer container. While it is not provable that a hidden container exists, when you have a TC container of large size (more than 50GB) with a very low fill rate (5% or less), it is my opinion that anyone who knows of true crypt will have their suspicion raised. I've seen people with 1TB drives formatted and have hidden containers of 990GB, leaving 5GB of data. If I was an attacker and saw that, I'd put money that there is a hidden container. When you get into smaller containers, say 1-10GB, it is less relevant in 1-10GB is just good "Growing room" as long as your using 10%+ of the container. Hidden Containers aren't inherently more secure than a standard container. They are just a bit harder to prove. The key is to NOT divulge the outer container password in the first place.
