When running WG 3.1, if i use a PestPatrol application from systray i get an "unknown error ocurred" and PestPatrol Control closes in the systray. When WG is not running then the PPControl works fine. Any1 else run both and had any problems. I have posted same question on PP forum so both parties are aware.
    I run Windows ME.

Muf: I did run Pest Patrol for about 2 weeks, but found it played up on me also [not necessarily with WG] so uninstalled when I found a fantastic replacement.

Anyhow, the point of this post is, have you tried Spybot.
    http://beam.to/spybotsd

I personally think you will find it better IMHO, and it has NO conflicts at all for me.

    Win2K PRO SP3 fully patched
    WG
    TDS3
    Spybot
    SpywareBlaster
    Browser Hijack Blaster
    IDBlaster
    FileChecker
    MRUBlaster
    SpywareGuard [new from javacool]
    PC-Cillin 2003 AV
    Kerio Personal Firewall
    Internet Sweeper
    System Mechanic
    RegProt
Gladiator Anti-Virus [GAV ~ alpha build, still in development stage but a great deep scanner of unpackers/compression files, etc. It does not have a Real Time Monitor, so does not conflict with other AV]

So as you can see I have a few, and do not have any problems.

I read discussions both parties PP and DCS ) are looking into the matter.
We're on the treshold of a new version of WG, v4, so it's probably a good time or it would be solved already anyway soon.
The PP applications were rebuild recently too, so hard to say if there is a connection.
Sometimes it helps to uninstall both and first install the one that goes the deepest into the system, could be WG, and after a reboot installing the other, PP i guess but ... if possible would wait for developers investigations and results.
I do like the SpybotS&D Tassie, does a lot, and PP again does lots of different things.

Shirley from the the PestPatrol Research, Development and Support team solved the problem(well its a workaround actually & the problem still needs nailing fully). Here's her post from for PestPatrol forum:

    Hi muf,

I have found the configuration that is causing your error message, on the WormGuard GUI, in the "Blocked/Allowed Files" section there is a check box "Hide Allow button from user" When this is checked, the error occurs, when the check is removed, the error does not occur.

I tested this on WinME and WinXP and found both conditions to be the same. Can you try this and see if you can use PPControl with this feature unticked.

I will look further into this to see if we can figure a cause or work-around for this.

I hope you can use this info to make sure the same problem doesn't occur on WG4.

    Thanks,
    muf

Thank you so much for posting this.
Can imagine circumstances people want the buttons to be blocked from users and now WG4 is planned to come with the systray ...... anyway, the DCS developers are looking into this for sure.

it looks pretty simple to me..with no option to allow PP to run, it is simply shut down: it does not look like there is really a problem, just a matter of having the settings right.

Wormguard users that also use Pest Patrol can find information on the conflict at this URL -
    http://pestpatrol.com/Support/TroubleShooting/WormGuard.asp
It's a relatively easy conflict to work around. :)
The conflict doesn't apply to our upcoming Wormguard4
