realtime protection doesn't like brother driver, download brother dcp T500W to see , install\wlan_wiz\uwdsw.exe, it says trojan generic, did not do that before, so its some module update of WV that is more aggressive or malware had its way into the file, uwdsw.exe is not essential to printer functioning
@WiseVector......I have just finished going through all these posts and have a couple of questions regarding your program..... 1)....One thing I noticed but not really sure that I was understanding it was on the subject of scanning.....I have 3 installed drives,with the OS on the C drive,and 2 others E and F for backups....When a scan is started are ALL drives scanned or can I just specifically choose to only scan my C drive 2) My older sister has a computer running XP SP3...and she is very careful of what she does on the net,and has never had any bad experiences with viruses or other bad stuff....My question is whether your program is compatible with XP,...I notice on your site it says that it is...but many times she has noticed when she starts the DL of a program which says its compatible,it turns out that in fact it wont install..... Could you clarify that for me,so I can inform her... Thank you for your time and consideration....
Hi, Anything new with WiseVector Stop X ? Or what are you working on for future development of WiseVector Stop X? Kind regards,
@WiseVector -- I am still waiting for your Pro/paid version. Can you give us an estimated number of months until its possible completion?
@WiseVector One other question I should have asked to my first post,but forgot.....How well does your program play with MWAM ?? I am thinking that its Exploit protection should be disabled because of conflicts...YES/NO What about the Malware protection aspect,how should that be handled ?? I believe/expect that the Web protection module should be okay to run...YES/NO... Thank you
Hi, 1. If you run "Full scan", all drives will be scanned. If you run "Custom Scan", you can choose to scan C drive only. 2. Yes, WVSX is compatible with XP. 3. Yes, WVSX can play with MWAM well. No conflict at all. But if having all the features enabled, the computer performance might be affcted, since some features are duplicated. It's OK to run Web protection.
Hi, Thanks for your support! If everything goes smoothly, the beta version will be released in the end of March.
@WiseVector , "Hi, We are working on the new version with more features these days. Please stay tuned." Could you tell what are going to be, some of the features, and give a guesstimate of the time frame? Always the best,
Hello, The new features are Web Protection, Application Network Access Control, NIDS and Manual Mode Hips. The beta version will be released in the end of March probably.
@WiseVector , An annoying FP: Heur.ML.PE.C = C:\Windows\Installer\MSI20A5.tmp detected again and again. The weird thing is that in Windows, folder"Installer" not exists!
It does, but will not show in Windows Explorer from the C:\Windows folder. However, you can manually navigate to it by changing the folder name to C:\Windows\Installer at the top of the Windows Explorer window.
@anon. In Explorer ribbon select to change Folder and Search option (from dropdown at the righthand end of the bar) Select the View tab. Untick Hide Protected Operating Files. (not really recommended) Win Installer folder will now be visible.
@roger_m , @stapp , Noted, thanks! @WiseVector , File MSI20A5.temp sent to virus@wisevector.com for analysis. --------------------------- Name: MSI20A5.tmp Size: 39.5kB (40,448 bytes) MD5: da218941fcc33eef3dc7889aab5135a7 SHA1: 278d6127583ee878dedcc47428194e3f5fa0c83d SHA-256 3710ad474556494c4726b399b60ae6d05381b05985542a9963e4661633ccb3af
@WiseVector Surely this has been asked before, but why is the installer not digitally signed?Or is it a problem of my windows 10 pc.
