Windows xp sp3 problems!!!

    Hey guys...
    sorry didn't know the right place to post this thread.

    i just installed windows xp sp3 i have the following problems:

    1: tuneup utilities 2008 is not opening how ever i can open the rest of the parts like disk doctor, 1 click maintenance, registry defragmenter etc...
    except for the main application ie. the "integrator.exe"...
    the process is showing up on the task manager.o_O o_O

    2: windows automatic update not working.

    3: do i need to reinstall direct x
    (sorry for a noobish question but can i install directx10 in windows xp sp3. if yes can someone give me a link)

    4.do i need to install anything else like drivers etc.. necessary for sp3...
    o_O o_O


    if i come up with some more problems then i'll post them...

    1&2. The only thing I can say that is close to this is that sp3 through auto update doesn't like tuneup on some systems. The '/Kernel=TUKernel.exe' within the boot.ini seems to be the problem (can also make some arks balk.)

    so what should i do, switch off auto update and what to do with all that boot.ini file and /Kernel=TUKernel.exe....
    what updtates should i geto_O

    BTW what do u mean by "(can also make some arks balk.)"

    another problem - my wallpaper changes back to none(default) after every restart.

    SP3 should be a simple and easy update for most XP users.. If you find yourself experiencing unusual problems and you can't find a fix, you might consider rolling back to SP2.
