I found that after installing the latest NOD32, Messenger refused to connect and gave an error code 80072745.

The strangest thing is once I uninstall NOD32 and install another anti-virus software, everything worked fine. Also the problem only occurs with certain network connections (e.g. at office, some WiFi points). I think there is some sort of incompatibility issue with the latest NOD32 which may be related to firewall on a network depending on the network provider's setting.

It could be that your firewall is blocking ekrn.exe on the port that Messenger uses to connect.

Hi I have this same problem

Work in a small office where 3 of the PC's have Messenger and NOD32 Installed

2 of the 3 machines both work together no problem, however 1 machine gets the above error message.

I uninstalled NOD32 from the problem PC this morning and messenger signing in straight away, reinstalled NOD, rebooted PC and NOD stopped working.

I have disabled the PC's firewall and our network firewall and still no joy, also have run an adaware scan on problem PC as well to see if anything else could be causing the problem, nothing found.

Any ideas as use messenger to contact clients and suppliers.

    Thanks
