What is your security setup these days?

Just in case people were wondering what i use:

AntiVir Classic AV, Comodo 2.4 Firewall, EQSecure 3.4 HIPS, Nero Backitup.

Thats it ~ my perfect setup. I believe anti-spyware programs have relatively poor performance and are bloated. Instead AntiVir Classic has a great engine to detect any malware such as spyware. If it is not caught, the firewall and hips surely will catch it.

Sice moving to Virgin Media, Ive got rid of all my security apps, and use the PCguard Security Package that Virgin supply free of charge.

Runs very smooth, and includes all aspects of Security. The only other prog I use is Spyware Blaster.

Is there any other method to avoid infection of virus other than installing anti virus software

Alternative options to block, neutralize or mitigate viruses/malware include real-time url scanners such as LinkScanner Pro, HIPS such as Online Armor, behavioral anti-malware's such as Cyberhawk, Prevx or Norton Antibot/Primary Response SafeConnect, IDS/IPS's such as A-Squared Anti-Malware, antispyware's such as CounterSpy or SuperAntiSpyware and sandboxes such as BufferZone, DefenseWall, GesWall or SandBoxie.

As you can see, there are numerous options. The above list is merely to serve as food for thought. Hope this helps.

Personally I would use Kaspersky over all. In your situation I would use Kaspersky as my main and Nod32 as my on demand scanner. That is just my opinion!
