    How is the new "green spider" on your PC? I had to get rid of it 2 years ago (tough, I liked it) because I had problems with FD ISR...

    working very well. I like the new GUI and the rest. I am also using it in conjunction with FD-ISR. You might want to check out Raymonds Blog.;)

    Just added Immunet Protect to run alongside MSE. This should offer stupid-proof protection.

    No it is old abondoned software. It is buggy (it runs out of its internal tables, so you have to adjust logging etc).

    It guards host file + startup folders, protects regsitry file associations and policy hive and some autorun locations in the registry.

    Its benefit it uses very little CPU. I have no idea how they can back such big claims see pic

    It would be nice if it worked in Windows 7..... :gack:
    BTW, 'today' i'm using:

    MBRGuard
    GesWall
    HostsMan
    Prevx
    WinPatrol

    I've had some problems (BSOD) with Geswall, but i'm liking it better than DW.
    Everything running smooth on a 512Mb RAM laptop. :)
    Anyway, when i find the time to buy some extra RAM, i'll probably add spyshelter to it as well as Avast Free.

    Installed Avast! 5 Free so I can save the last Norton activation for when I, hopefully, get my own laptop.

    So, the main security on this desktop is:

    Windows 7 Firewall (default settings)
    Sandboxie
    Avast! 5 Free
    Hitman Pro
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    (free)

    I go to the darkside (usually use NoScript then) every day but ^that^ is always enough.

    Changed wife's PC security on XP SP3
    Realtime (green is system wide, red is threatgates, blue is IE8 only)

    * behind FW-router/external (off line) data backup

    * MBRGuard
    * Avast Free (only file and behavioral shield)
    * Windows Defender (with execution control agent disabled)

    * DefenseWall Personal FW V3 (default settings)

    * Keyscrambler free for IE8

    Explanation
    MBRGuard denies silently all suspicious direct access to MBR, becasue she runs admin this is a nice second precaution. Both Avast and Windows Defender are set to silently remove blacklisted malware. Avast file shield looks at reads and writes (only looks at scrips executed). Windows Defender does not look at execution, this reduces CPU and I?O usage of WD enormeeously. With the other agents it loos at downloads and regsitry changes. Avast behavioral shield is primarely intended against rootkits (according Avast), like MBR Guard a nice second safety net.

    DefenseWall is primary defense. Because my wife does not uses Go banking/shopping :'( , I have keyscrambler added for IE8.

    Regards Kees
