Yes! I know it is a beta.

Just wondering, if you use it.. what do you use as antivirus. The options I include are official listings on the Windows Security Providers Page as supported Beta's.

None. I don't use AV protection on my computers.

I tested Windows 8 with OSS 7.5 for just a few days. I can report the 32 bit version worked fine. OSS did its job and Windows 8 was very fast. I may test it (OSS 7.5.2) thoroughly whenever time permits.

    Thanks.

"Nothing". Windows Defender and IE10. Waiting for flash to be compatible with Enhanced Protected Mode so I can turn it on.

Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials and MBAM Pro...both working fine :thumb:
Except MBAM logs show OS as W7, and IE10 as IE9.

If things don't change... I may secure it with concrete. :D

Joke aside, if I do happen to use it (which I still am not, but most likely in May I will, because I'll be getting a new hdd then, and be able to have it on dual boot), I'll just use what the O.S has, plus EMET.

Basically a hardened system, at the image of my Windows 7.

I love my Desktop. I would rather have it than any tablet or notebook you could ever offer me. So, Metro is annoying to me. I like it but I really believe you should be able to opt out of using it. I understand it is the future.. whatever. The no start menu does not bother me but the Metro mostly is in my way.

Windows Defender, I think this is just a re-named MSE. Am I wrong?

One of the latest Windows 8 Updates is designed to block MSE from being installed, I guess some people didn't know :p

Now... that's 100% stupid, isn't it? I mean, I thought you couldn't even install it. Damn, no idea why I thought that  .... Oh wait, Windows Defender (= Microsoft Security Essentials) is part of Windows 8.

I thought users would be presented with a nice It's already installed and running in Windows 8 by default.

But, better late than never... :D

I assume the latest betas will do that, this is probably to block the older versions.

Is it working well for you? I always thought MSE was decent myself.

  23. shakethebabyass, it works out quite well for me and furthermore I had MSE on my W7 64bit for about 6 months and never had problems. Can't go wrong with MSE anyone can use it. :D
