I run dual boot 98Se and win2k. Currently on win2k as i've just tried again to install version 2 on 98SE. Had been awhile since i had tried to install version2, and still having problems at the winsock level.
Spyblocker complains during boot time that another program maybe using port 80
Naviscope gives message that windows socket implementation does not support the operations required by this program and gives error code 10047.
As a result MyIe browser won't work as i loose connectivity to the net.
Will wait for comments and possible resolution before reinstalling version 1

    Thanks Martin.
The repair butoon didn't do the trick, but the winsockfix did.
And Imon now scans emails at it should where previous betas didn't. Will do same for win2k sometime this week.
    Thanks again.

Great I am really happy for you - did you have to use the winsock repair on win2k too??

I hope I'm not intruding on your thread but I seem to have similar problems. I'm using Win2K on cable connection. When I tried the version 2 betas of Nod32 I would lose connection through my browsers (Opera & IE) when I used IE. I ended up having to stop using the betas because of this. I've been running the version 2 final (?) for a while and still have this same problem. Rebooting clears this up. Shutting down anything connected to the internet and shutting down the firewall (Outpost free version 1), then doing a ipconfig/release & ipconfig/renew will also clear this up. Imon is scanning my emails using TheBat! for email and has never been a problem.

I'm wondering if this fix for Mickey would apply to me also?

    Thanks,

    Buddy

    Hi Budman,

You can give the fix a try, many have tried it, me too, and it works fabulously, i think you will benefit from this tool also, give it a try.

    Let me know, oké.

Hope it's OK to report my experience on Mickey TheMan's thread. I also boot Win98SE & I use Becky email with multiple pop3 a/c's. Setting Becky's multi-accounts used to be a bit fiddly with NOD32's previous version, & I was never sure that attachments were being scanned, so I used to scan these separately.

I opted to uninstall the previous version - using the free Total Uninstall which works well for me. Then I changed Becky's email settings [SMTP?] to the standard default ports before installing NOD32 v.2, choosing default install. I was mildly surprised to see that v.2 works perfectly with Becky now - but I'll probably never lose the habit of re-scanning att'ments!
Sent myself eicar.com & eicar.zip, that went OK, but ZAPro intercepted eicar.zip before NOD got a chance.

This new easy setup of pop3 scanning with multi-accounts in Becky is a big plus with version 2.

Yep, sure did and it worked ok.
Emails in Becky are now scanned as they should while in previous betas, i had to disable imon to get net connectivity.

I did not even uninstall version 1. Just installed version2 and used the keep current settings options

ADDED: Just noticed that email notification is not added to messages under win2k while they are under 98SE.
Bit that could just be some settings. I will report back on this after full verification.

ADDED: The winsock fix alone was not sufficient. After using Nod's repair now button once (network configuration) and a reboot, emails are now scanned under win2k as well

Hope this helps others in same situation.

Just checking back in to let everyone know the winsockfix seems to have worked for me. I ran it about 2 days ago. I don't use IE very much but I feel like I've used it more than enough to show any problems. Thanks for the help :D
