Some of their products look really useful, anyone use them? Even if you don't, perhaps from an outside perspective, which ones look like they are worth buying? Thanks.

the only app i might remotely consider is Fix-It Utilities. my preferences for such a program do lie elsewhere though.

also its a shame they dont offer trials for their products :(

I am using PowerDesk 6.0 which is a useful tool to replace the Windows Explorer. PowerDesk had been product of Menjix, then Ontrack and now Vcom. I have been using PowerDesk for 7-8 years. Their technical support told me that PowerDesk 7.0 is in the works.

    Haven't tried other products.

Id recommend other freeware boot managers over System Commander (if they are still making that)

as for Power Desk many swear by it, but you might consider
http://cubicreality.com/ce/screenshots (freeware developed by participants over at virtual plastic)
its on my list of toys to play with but I havent yet

I've been using PowerDesk for several years. It's one of my Desert Island Apps.
It's what MS "should" have had as Windows Explorer.

    ...screamer

btw: Ice, Cubic Explorer looks interesting.

I recently got a new laptop and faintly remembered hearing of software that can copy your installed programs from one computer to another... "safely"

Which is great... but.. unfortunately alohabob's PC relocator software was purchansed from microsoft...

    http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2006/mar06/03-07ApptimumPR.mspx

It seems VCOM's system suite has a prog named EASYUNINSTALL
That claims to : "safely move programs to a different drive or computer"

I'm thinking about giving this package a try.. Though I might just install all my apps from scratch anyway.. Has anyone ever used this with any success? In general I just concieve that the process couldn't be foolproof nor 100% reliable unless it monitors everything from the beginning.. I am sceptical.. there is no detailed description of the methods nor any type of elaboration to bring up the confidence this simple tool handles what can be a very complicated if-not extremely difficult task for any package to do effectively..

I have used Fix-IT since 1996, back when I was running Win95. I have updated it several times & still use it now that I'm running XP.

Old faithful Fix-It -- bludy gud app!
