Hi all, A week ago, I used TrueCrypt 7.1a to create a hidden volume inside an outer volume. Everything worked well. But today when I tried to mount the hidden volume, it said “Incorrect password or not a TrueCrypt volume”. I am sure the password is correct. In the meantime, I tried mounting the outer volume. And it worked well. I tried to restore the volume header. When I put in the password for the outer volume, it successfully restored the volume header. But when I put in the password for the hidden volume, it still says “Incorrect password or not a TrueCrypt volume”. I am quite certain I remember the password correctly for the hidden volume. What seems to be the problem? And how can I solve it? Please help!
Do you remember performing any "work" inside the outer volume without enabling the hidden volume protection? Using the outer volume without enabling that protection can very quickly ruin the hidden volume. It makes sense too since the outer volume must have complete control in order to conceal the hidden volume's existence. You would not be the first person to make that mistake.
