The only differences between the Basic AV and Norton Security, besides the licensing for only one machine, is the so called "Smart Firewall" and the "Backup" feature are not included.

I have Norton Antivirus Basic, no firewall or anything else, just the built in Trend Micro Antivirus in my ASUS router. Norton AV caught this bad connection attempt while I was on a site that converts YouTube video to MP3, pretty neat:

PS: the site I was won had nothing to do with that attacking computer domain that appears below, I was on a totally different site.

Thanks, I think I will install the Safe Web extension to have some phishing protection.

Strangely Norton didnt offer to install any extension in my machine, I remember how annoying it was in the past in this aspect.

I would be very surprised if it doesn't prompt you at some stage. After just about any updates Norton will prompt me to install the extensions I'm not using. I've lost count how many times I've clicked, "Don't ask me again".

Maybe they are starting to listen... Nope, that's not it. Clean install of Windows and fresh Norton install, first time I opened IE and edge I was prompted to install extensions. I can't remember with Firefox but I may install Chrome later and will take note then.

Yeah I meant with Chrome or Firefox it didn't prompt me. With IE and Edge it does prompt you but it's a one time prompt which you can easily ignore.

Not a big deal, but I noticed a bug with Norton Security (latest version); it doesnt detect when Firefox is in fullscreen mode, so it doesnt go automatically at silent mode.

Does it work correctly for you guys?

Hmm... If that goes through I wonder how it will pan out for their AV. Thank for the heads up / warning.
