I searched google and arrived at this forum and the older thread about this annoying pop up box when executing file system searches.

So far, I haven't found the fix but I've discovered a workaround that allows XP Windows Explorer File Search to at least continue without the box constantly reappearing .

I renamed the file extensions from .tib to anything else but .tib

Of course, the issue was now how to find all the .tib files on the searched volume since executing another Windows Explorer search for all *.tib files would create a whole new annoying loop of popup boxes.

    1. Execute a DOS window and change directories to the root of the volume being searched, so
    Start button
    Run option
type cmd then enter or OK button
    2. the DOS window appears, using the drive letter as your target, enter the next command:
cd /d DriveLetterHereWithAColon so if your searched drive is the E: disk, then
cd /d e: then press enter
    3. Now, find all of the *.tib files by executing a dir /s *.tib

Take note of all the locations of *.tib files then rename their tib extensions to something innocuous or just delete the extension from the file name. If your unable to see a .tib extension in the file name then you have to disable the "Hide extensions for known file types" option in Windows explorer.

NOTE: If your Win32 explorer.exe shell settings aren't already displaying all file extensions then you probably have no business trying to use the DOS window too and renaming the files because you're probably less adept than necessary to perform this operation and will end up accidentally deleting your tib files or jamming up your recycle bin. In your case, call the smart kid down the street that everyone else uses for tech support and give them these instructions. You are the kind of person who Acronis was made for so it could help you recover from your mistakes of deleting files and settings, while the rest of us use Acronis for true backup and recovery and purposes. Good luck NUB.

I had the same problem with V10. However, right now I am testing the trial version V11--8,101 and that problem seems to have been fixed. Or at least it is not appearing for now. The password popup is not appearing doing a search for non tib files.
