Tearing?

    I have Linux Mint 19.3 installed on my Dell Laptop. It doesn't matter what flavor I install, I get this "tearing"? in the taskbar. I guess that's what you'd call it. You can see pixels moving around in the taskbar.

    Here is a picture and video. You can see in the first few seconds of the video of white pixels in the taskbar. Sorry for the sound, loud central heater. In the picture, those 3 white lines.

    USA still the best. But barely.
    I don't see it in the video. I think I see it in the pic.

    Video driver? Dell invertor? Idk. Hope you get sorted.

    My laptop has two gpus. The native that's in the cpu and a nvidia.

    Can you plug an external monitor to see if you get the same thing?

    Did you try other distros?

    I can try a different monitor. I've tried many distros. I'll get back.

    Just a shot in the dark, you may need to install the "non-free" packages for Mint. Although I'd be surprised if that repository wasn't already enable by default after the installation.

    Mint is based on Ubuntu so non-free is not applicable.
    LMDE is based on Debian and I think non-free is enabled by default.
