System won't boot in safe mode

    My roommate's girlfriend's computer is BSODing on boot, even in safe mode.

    Only changes that were made were configuring the LAN to connect using DHCP instead of a manually configured IP address. I'm guessing since we're on a university network that a worm/virus could be the issue now that she was able to connect to the internet.

    I'm planning on burning a recovery CD and scanning with that, but is there anything else that I should do or look out for with these symptoms?

    Never mind, problem solved itself, the system was probably overheating.
