    Hey...
I have tried the update tool an still can't update the ewido.

When I push the button to update, its says "update.ewido.net ikke fundet"
its in danish, and translated means " update.ewido.net not found"

    What can I do....?

I have paid for one years license....

    regards Thomas

Sounds like it might be getting blocked by your software firewall...assuming you have one.

You might want to look at this page,it has a fix update tool and discusses some of the update problems:

    http://www.ewido.net/en/support/?AID=26

It does mention HigherAuthority's problem-does not specifically mention Konges'-but if you have not tried this, it could help.

At the site I mentioned above

    http://www.ewido.net/en/support/?AID=26

    It says:

If you get the message "Connection Error During Receive" and you use a firewall, If you use firewall, please permit the traffic for all ewido applications (SecuritySuite.exe and ewidoguard.exe), so that these files have full access in both directions (incoming and outgoing) to the internet over port 80 and TCP.

    Glad you got it going

The last signatures' update I can see on the Update Forum below is for February 6, reference 1709. I can see none for today.

If Ewido has technical problems preventing updates from being downloaded by customers, why on earth don't they post a message on this site and again when normal service has been resumed?

I have paid for an indefinite licence too.

Simple reason: There hasn't been any update today until about 10 minutes ago. If you have problems downloading this new update (#1710), please try again later, it's a completely new database (~ 4,5 MB), sorry for any inconvenience.

I just downloaded this for the first time and I can't update either. After trying to connect I get this error message: Connection couldn't be established.

    What can I do?

    Thanks,
    Tina

Many thanks for the information and reassurance Peter.Ewido!

Having a dial-up connection, it is easier for me to download 4.5+ MB using Mass Downloader, which I have just done and installed it successfully.

Since yesterday evening the Update hangs. Restarts or using your fixtool change nothing about that.

Are you using a firewall? If so please ensure that ewidoguard.exe and securitysuite.exe have full internet access

I'm not using a firewall. Btw. I change nothing at my systems since the last month and everything works fine. But since yesterday evening the Update hangs. At the moment it shows your servers will be actualisized. After a few restarts it shows still the same i told you.

You could try hitting the update button several times (with about 1-2s delay) to get a free slot for download or manually download the database from our website. Sorry for the inconvenience.

i think the servers are working right, now..

i had already manually installed the newest malware database, #1710, so there was no new update, but, at least, now, it reports that there is no update available rather than "the server is being updated, try again later"

I have also had to update manually today to get #1710. No changes to my system in last week.
Hopefully things will be okay now

I tried installing that "master" database, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it replaces the hundreds of incremental files I previously had.

But I'm still confused -- I eventually succesfully updated from that to 1810 (it was showing "Last update" as a few days and a few versions old), but no new file has been added. Has the way the incrementals work been changed?

    Mike

I received an autoupdate today and my status shows 266,252, version #1713 and last update 2/9/2006.

Their website shows an update today at 13:10 (Central European Time=+1:00 GMT) to this number of threats.

It would make sense for them to post sticky here to show update info.
