I still fail to see a point to this browser. If you're paranoid about Google watching you bathe, just use Chromium.

Or ... The European Union is investigating whether the new approach violates its data-protection rules ... wait until Brussels drops a bollock with it!

I can't get Chromium to set itself as the default browser (for trillian email alerts) so I have to use SRware.

New Iron-Version: 17.0.1000.2 Stable for Windows

    // 03.04.2012 UPDATE to 17.0.1000.2
Fixes problems with the Chrome Webstore

    I hope so!

EDIT: Apparently not. I just got bluescreened whilst in Chrome Webstore (again). Iron has done this to me on three separate computers now in Webstore & at least once in YouTube. I only run it on my notebook now & the way it's going I think I will be saying Auf Wiedersehen!

Downloaded and expanded IronPortable v17.0.1000.2 to my RAM Drive.

Installed AdBlock and Ghostery from the Google Chrome Webstore with no problems.

Also noticed that all Web Pages loaded an bit faster.

I enjoy this Web Browser because of its security and privacy features.

I've run it almost since it was first released, but it has always been a tad glitchy. Plus, it's a pain to have to re-install fanboy's list on multiple computers, so I just use it on my notebook now. It's primarily as a back-up to Chrome these days.

Have trialed both extensions from the Google Chrome Web Store, AdBlock and AdBlock Plus, on seperate trials using
SRWare IronPortable versions. Never really noticed any difference in Ad Blocking performance as both Ad Blockers
exist options allowing utilization to the same Ad Blocking Lists, such as, EasyList and EasyPrivacy, and more.
AdBlock, and AdBlock Plus, both exist their own home grown Ad Blocking List that is by default activated in each.
The only noticable difference was, AdBlock is an tad slower than AdBlock Plus.

The other noticable difference between AdBlock and AdBlock Plus was, AdBlock Plus tended to crash often, where as,
AdBlock only crashed once since it has been installed as an Extension in SRWare IronPortable.

The only adversity of SRWare IronPortable is, the Web Browser stores an increadable amount of RUNDLL32.EXE files in
the Microsoft Windows Prefetch Folder. After browsing with SRWare IronPortable, I simply delete the entire contents
of the Microsoft Windows Prefetch Folder, reboot the computer, and everything is back to defaults.

Chromium is the basis for the other three. It's entirely open source.

Chrome is Chromium with three main additions:
    1) An open source autoupdater
    2) A closed source PDF viewer
    3) Adobe Flash Player

Dragon is based on Chromium and as far as I know all it adds is some certificate stuff from Comodo, which is a massive CA.

Iron is, as I've said before, pretty much a scam. It touts privacy... but all it does is, effectively, uncheck a few boxes and remove the ability to check them again if you so choose.

It also comes with a newtab page that has 9 options, which is kinda cool. OTherwise it offers nothing and as far as I know it hasn't released source code in 5 versions.

This is just bollocks & a persistent form of fanboy trolling. Prove it that Iron is a deliberate scam outright or shut it! ;)
