    I did in fact install v4.1 a few days ago after first following the instructions to disable protection, uninstall the previous version and then install v4.1.

    Then, after receiving all the updates for v4.1, it took about 30 minutes to enable all protection. (The same problem occurs on 2 separate PC's.)

    This seems FAR too long a delay to enable all protection. Any thoughts on what may be causing it and how to fix it?

    from signature....Win2k; IE6; Firefox 2.0.0.11; OE6; Webroot Spysweeper; EZ AV;

    Hello beejay,

    If you still have SS installed, before applying the protection next time, try disabling Spysweepers "IE Security Shield".
    It's been known to be a pain in the rear as it fails to recognize that Spywareblaster is attempting to apply valid site entries to the Restricted Zone of IE.

    Excellent idea, Bubba!

    I did an experiment with 1 PC - I shut down IE security on SpySweeper after disabling protection on SpywareBlaster. SpywareBlaster took 30 minutes to disable protection but, after IE security within SS was shut down, enabling protection within SpywareBlaster only took a couple of seconds!

    SpySweeper seems to encroach in other ways too. (It needs to have its email attachments shield disabled if I want to use OE6.) Have you any recommended equivalent to SS that does not conflict with other software?

    Since this is the Spywareblaster Support Forum, I would request posing that question in our other anti-malware software forum. You will get tremendous member feedback concerning "SS" anti-malware solution replacements.
