Doesn't seem to pick up Edge on its own. I added it manually and it detects it as Opera. I'm hesitant to run it...

Worked okay for me when I was using Chromium Edge. It is not currently installed.

@hayc59 -- I'm confused. Is your post 30 adding something new to mood's post #29, or.....?

Me too. I wish they could also integrate the functionality of the old MozBackup into it so it can backup/restore profiles

I didn't even know it now also supports other browsers like Vivaldi. But is it really safe to use, it won't mess up stuff? And I wonder if it's needed in the first place, the old Firefox was quite slow yes, but newer browsers are already quite speedy.

Don't use it, I dunno what happened but after a while, now every tab I try to open in Firefox has a huge lag before it even starts to load

@Spartan -- "After this, therefore because of this" logic? I have use this app for several months. It works, and NO problems. However, each person's computer is a unique hodge-podge of apps & OS's so -- what makes my computer smile may give yours hemorrhoids. :isay:

MozBackup has been deprecated for reason, its code is now > 8 years old. The first step has to be to update or rewrite the code which takes time. Anyhow, it has disadvantages when only saving parts of a profile and not the whole profile. In case of backup any 1:1 backup software or packager is better. In case of defective files you can grab them out of the backup and insert them into profile (valid for all browsers), or recover the whole profile with ease.

speedyfox - compressing databases is all? ofc Firefox has to reconstruct it which takes time on startup and in between when accessing its databases. And this is valid for any kind of browser using databases (sqlite).

If you want a faster browser you'd better stick with the internal options (which are very limited on chromium forks), and/or reduce the amount of used extensions. For ad blockers it's recommended to review manually created filters because of improved lists.

Yes, I also don't really trust these kinf of tools. Perhaps they do mean well, but it can still cause problems I guess.
