    I'm sure you've given this consideration already, but would it be possible to get updates as deltas, in order to reduce the download time?

    Those 10 seconds a day for my security? I'm happy to be live connected to the security source each day and get that nice sweet update popup thingy with some messages;
    for me it could even have some speech notification telling me as dedicated operator i'm updated to the last possible security with xxxxxxxxxx references,  xxxxxx primaries, xxxxxxx traces, xxxxxxx variants at date/hour and if i now want a coke and fries with that.
    So when it goes automatically in silence i know it has happened for me.
    Of course i would like an interaction button to be able to send a big "thank you!" (could be something for their statistics)
    I leave the question for whom makes them and knows what "deltas" are. :)

    Jooske, a delta is a partial update - just the new stuff.  I'm pretty sure the entire file is downloaded when Radius updates (correct me if I'm wrong) and, when I'm updating via a hotel telephone line, it can get pretty expensive.

    This is exactly what we have planned for TDS4 and Wormguard4.  The exact specs aren't concrete yet but it's solid on paper :)

    Best regards,

    Joosk the updates that just get the new stuff instead of the whole file again are called deltas from the mathematical term delta meaning "change in" and represented by the greek letter delta (a triangle)

    Thanks for all the info! Learned new things, at least how to dance with a modem :)
    I thought each time were send about 200k packets (although bigger these days) with only the new stuff and changes, as discussed long time ago in the private forum.
