I originally had Windows XP and Linux installed on different hard drives, so I installed OS selector 10 from inside Disk Director Suite. When I rebooted I was greated by a blue background with a window that said "processing, please wait". No matter how long I waited, nothing actually happened.

I had no choice but to run a fixmbr from inside Windows XP recovery. Once that was done I was able to boot Windows normally again. However, if I opened Disk Director Suite (to size partitions, etc) the next time I rebooted my computer, I'd get stuck at the "Processing, please wait" screen and would have to fix the MBR again!

This became really annoying. Since there is no entry for OS Selector in the Add/Remove Programs list, I had to remove Disk Director Suite entirely at which point it gave me prompts about uninstalling OSS. "Great!," I thought, "all I have to do now is reboot and reinstall and not install OSS again." But when I reboot, I got the "Acronis Loader" prompt (which comes right before the "Processing, please wait" screen) and nothing more.

    ARGHHH!!!!

No problem, I'll just fix the MBR (AGAIN!) and reinstall Disk Director. Long story short, that didn't work either.

I rebooted to fix the MBR (for the 5th time) and decided to make a backup with True Image, format the partition, and restore it. But to my disbelief, opening True Image after fixing the MBR messed it up AGAIN!

So it comes down to this:

    1. Running DDS screws up the MBR
    2. Uninstalling DDS (and OSS with it) screws up the MBR
    3. Running True Image screws up the MBR

I'm going to go out on a limb here and also guess that uninstalling True Image is also going to screw up the MBR.

I love DDS, but OS Selector is complete garbage.

I don't know what I'm going to do next, but if I have to reformat complete and reinstall windows and all my apps, I'm going to be really upset.
