Hi. Having recently been a victim of credit card fraud, I'm looking to update my online security.
I was using Avast Internet Security with Malwarebytes Pro, Firefox with ABP plugin.
I'm now trialling Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 along with Malwarebytes Pro.

Is there anything else you'd recommend adding?

    Cheers :)

Ditto on keyscrambler. Easy, cheap and effective.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I am anal about identify theft and haven't had so much as a virus in the last 10 years....and I visit some questionable web sites.

First of all make sure your machine is clean. Short of a new install scan with a few scanners including Malwarebytes which you already own and a couple more good ones. I recently downloaded the portable version of Comodo Cleaning Essentials and would recommend it. Dr. Web CureIt is also portable and does a good job.

Also download Sandboxie and use it religiously. You might need to study up on it a bit but its pretty simple to understand and it will make you feel quite secure.

In addition to a good anti-virus, I would also recommend a firewall/HIPS combination such as Comodo, Online Armor, or possibly PrivateFirewall. All are free.

Other posters have made good recommendations but I wanted to cover everything I believe is needed for excellent security.

Finally, I thought of this at the last second, use a browser such as Firefox with Keyscrambler, Web of Trust, and NoScript. If you still don't feel safe with this setup add a password manager such as Roboform, StickyPassword, Keepass.

Thanks for the info. I already use Roboform. KIS2012 has a option to run websites in safe mode like a sandbox so have that set for financial sites. It also has a firewall so should be covered there.

ZoneAlarm comes to my mind as it has a dedicated credit card protection and is really detailed but i think it is not totally free. Is one of the best i think.
Webrot would be my next choice

It is my understanding that Credit Card Fraud mostly originates from using Credit Cards at non-internet shopping Businesses (i.e., local merchants/restaurants, etc.). However, securing a PC is also extremely important in minimizing the chances of Credit Card Fraud.

You can experiment with this and that install this and that and whatever, however, the best security is obtaning an
Credit Card Account with an max limit of around Five Hundred Dollars. Use that Credit Card for nothing else but
online purchases. The early advertisement was not impressive but expected.

I've had to remove noscript. It interfered with my online banking site, not allowing to make payments, even though I set it all to allow. :(

I'm now using Comodo Internet Security Pro trial. Although there's not much extra in the paid, plus or pro versions so will probably use the free version.

So along with Malwarebytes Pro, Keyscrambler Personal, Hitman Pro, FF plugins; ABP, Better Privacy, WOT and Sandboxie, think I'm setup ok?

Sandboxie setup with an extra Sandbox for only Banking and Internet purchase. Its free or paid (32+64bits).

Defensewall (32bits) paid and worth it.

    Best Regards

You are correct and it happened to me in 2010. We figured out it was probably a waiter at Ihop. Our Bank caught it before they spent 350.00 bucks so it was not a disaster.

    Thanks again for the help.
Now trying Ad Muncher and so far seems much better than Adblock Plus. Pity it can be so expensive for the better version.

Created a sandbox just for online transactions. Set up, (I hope!) so IE9 is the only thing allowed to start and access the net.
