once u install wormguard do you not need to do anything else like set it up ? does wormguard run as a service or act like script sentry and pop up as soon as something is executed that it protects ? anything else i should know since im new to do or is it pretty much just set and forget and manually scan files u need
Hi hidden, Wormguard does not need to be running in order for the protection to work. In fact, the Wormguard program is really just the control panel that allows you to enable and disable its protection, and set some options for how it works. Once installed, what you want to do is run the interface and click the [Install] button in the "Protection" section. That installs the hook that provides all the protection. Note that there is also a [Test] button above that section which will tell you if it is working. Once it is set (meaning the "protection" is "installed") you don't need to run the user interface (main Wormguard program) anymore. It'll take action (just like ScriptSentry) when a suspicious file is being accessed.
Hi hidden, here a quick answer: push the install button and maybe the test button. WG uses no resourses, simply said when you start a process the system asks WG if its ok to proceed. Dolf
