Guys please help me in this case. I have got no response from deserted Bitdefender forum. I am using BD trial and have decided to buy it. It improved a lot from 2009 version in terms of resource usage. But it gives me an alert
Bitdefender Security Service has encountered a critical error..!!

I have in realtime Prevx SafeOnline Facebook, SAS pro and Winpatrol Plus.

This nag screen is bothering me a number of times a day. This is my last hope of getting help before going back to free Avast 5.

Theres no telling why it does that - maybe it conflicts with that overkill setup U have ;) Or maby it conflicts with earlier installed software (if u havent formatted your computer recently) *puppy*

I havent experinced that error when testing the suite ;)

But I knew these are compatible to all AV. They haven't caused me any problems when I had Avast or Avira or Dr.Web

Try removing SAS Pro and try to install BD again coz that is the only thing I feel that might affect BD's smooth installation.

Otherwise if the problem still persist then remove BD and install any other AV. It is good to see that you tried first rather than buying it :thumb:

BitDefender has a Live Chat support services on their site have you tried it?

I did use it 4 years ago when I used BD and they solved my issues, so give the Live Chat a spinn.;)

Click on the Chat icon in this link

Unfortunately bitdefender is really not stable enough, i tried it at 2 totally different computer(i bought 3 users license:'( ), but all always crashed itself. I sent them this issue, they just simply ignored my feedback.

I will advise you turn to other security suite like Kaspersky, Norton, Avira,... would be better. Forget the sunk cost, if you keep immersing, nothing will improve, sadly, but is true.:(

    Regards

@SweX: Thanks for the link. I have submitted my problem. They told me to wait for 48 hours. So, I am not experimenting between this time with installing or uninstalling. Lets see what's they say.

Thanks SweX, they contacted me in good time and after diagnosing my system they advised me to remove all the apps I described (SAS pro, Winpatrol pro) and also backup scanners like Spybot, Spyware Buster and MBAM free.
Although I like bitdefender engine I am afraid of uninstalling the apps they told. So, Please suggest something. I have 20 more days trial left before I buy it or going back to Avast5 free.

I think just remove the apps you mentioned and try to install BD and then reinstall them again

When I got my firest computer it had Norton, and I used it a couple or three years. Then I went to BD for about three years. In time, though BD crashed and their solution was to remove everything else, including my firewall and just depend upon BD.
Guess what I ditched - not everything else - just BD. I have not missed it. All others I have tried run well with other applications that I want to use. except Kaspersky requires removal of SAS.

My advice is to ditch BD, and find an AV that you like, and that also likes you and other applications that you want to use.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Why do you want so badly to have BD?Just curious...
Anyway,as JerryM said...why ditch almost every security software that you have, just for the sake of one?
    I have a license for BDIS,tried it..not problems with it,with MBAM pro,SAS pro,WinPatrol pro....but i just didn't like it...i guess this make me less patriot :D

Than you gery, JerryM and JoeBlack40. I will not ditch my existing softwares. To give it a last try I uninstalled it and reinstalled. Lets see what happens. If that willl repeat again I will surely ditch BD.
@JoeBlack: Don't know why I like BD engine very much. That's why I am giving this a try. v2009 didn't work for me. but v2010 looked as promising, but... Lets see..

I don't doubt that the BD engine is a good one. If it will get along with other security applications you desire to use, then go for it. It will be interesting to see how they play together.

    Jerry

I have tried BDIS 2010 some months back and even on that system I used I clearly remember I hadn't installed any security apps not even On-Demand but still BD crashed unnecessarily on my system:cautious: Hope they take the next version seriously now

If i think twice,i understand you about your "crash" for BD...i have some of my own(well, two to be honest)
So,when you "fall in love" with a software(well,a security one),you can't let go so easily..and when that damn "lover" program doesn't meet your expectations and is "jealous" on the other security programs too...damn!you have to dumped it,and that's that! :D
PS.Hope that BDIS 2010 will be more...suited,and will work for you.As i said,i haven't got any problems with it.

@cgeek: Actually they told to wait for 48 hours but they responded within 24 hours.
@JerryM, icr, JoeBlack40: After reinstalling one day is over. It didn't do anything wrong yet. But I am totally ready to ditch this "jealous" app but let it speak first..:D
